About
Tom Renwick at Maths on Track is a leading in-service provider for Scottish primary and secondary maths teachers. This website is his contribution to the Curriculum for Excellence, to help as many kids (and adults) be as good as they can be at numeracy. Designed for school and home use (and based on an inexpensive credit system, for as little as £10), the site offers downloadable video clips of key numeracy lessons and practice sheets, as well as access to on-line versions of the acclaimed Wee Red Box numeracy flash cards, the old fashioned technique that can promote 'working memory' and 'processing speed'. With the videos parents now have direct access to the visual techniques that Tom has been asked to share in over 500 Scottish schools with teachers and working with some 100,000 pupils. These experiences add to the quality of his teacher in-services.

Videos
The site has 157 downloadable videos of key numeracy lessons, for showing to pupils in school or for children to view at home. Each video requires 10 credits to download so they can all be downloaded for 1570 credits (just over £130). See free downloads for a full list of the current videos.
Practice Sheets
The site has over 700 practice sheets and all are downloadable for using with any class or group of pupils at school, or, for children to practice on at home (answer sheets are available). They can be displayed onto an electronic smart board and used for an interactive lesson, and then, printed out as a worksheet for pupils to do by themselves, and can be used as often as needed. Each practice sheet requires 3 credits to download and an answer sheet (if needed) uses 1 credit. The graded assessments for every primary stage are already proving particularly popular!

Flash Cards (on-line versions of the actual Wee Red Box)
The site has 4800 flash cards which help to promote good working memory and better processing speed ie mentally fluent (= better at numeracy = better at maths!). Accessing a set of on-line Wee Red Box flash cards requires 5 credits for up to an hour on a given set (ie for as little as 42p / hour). The actual Wee Red Boxes, each consisting of 396 quality plastic flash cards, are also available from the store (£135 / box, and boxes available for Curriculum for Excellence 1, 2 and 3)
